U.S. PUBLIC LAND SURVEY MONUMENT RECORD
Note: This form is intended and designed to fulfill all requirements of Wisconsin Administrative Code,Chapter A-E 7.00,U.S.
Public Land Survey Monument Record(3)(a)(b)(c)(d)(e)(f)(g)(h)(i).An additional sheet may be added If necessary to
conform with said requirements.
(a) Corner location: Township 6 North
Range R EastlWee.t
Town/City/Village VERONA
County DANE
•
Section 2 2.
(b) (f) (g) (h) Description of monument found at this corner and'if it was accepted, state all evidence
(material, testimonial, occupational, plats, records, other monuments) used as a basis for accepting. If
not accepted or if nothing was found, state evidence used as basis for establishing location. If
reestablished through lost corner proportionate methods, indicate all monuments, distances and
directions used to establish.
A search of the Dane County Surveyors Office records revealed that there has never been a (filed) survey in which the
center of Section 22 was monumented. A number of relatively recent surveys have shown subdivisions of various parts of Section
22. None of these surveys showed any sonument being set at the center. All of the surveys utilized the federal (opposite 1/4
corner intersection) method. The area near the center of Section 22 is shown on a plan for CTH H, project 10257(3), page 4.
The center of section is shown graphically only. I spoke with the adjacent land owner. He says that he has never seen or heard
of any monument in the vicinity of where the center of section should fall. He thought that the corner area had once been a
filled in gravel pit. A check of the original entry records at Dane County Title Company revealed that most all lands within
Section 22 were patented away from the U.S. in the 1840's, when the current federal method was also mandated.
I set a Berntsen Type A-1 Aluminum Monument for the center of Section 22 utilizing the straight line intersection of opposite
1/4 corners. Four Berntsen Type 1-1 Aluminum monuments were set for reference ties.
The following coordinates were established on this corner, referenced to the Wisconsin Coordinate System, South Zone,
NAD-27: N= 357525.982
8=2125068.154
The combination factor for this project is 0.999910 •
(c) (d)(e) Plan view of corner with ties to at least 4 witness monuments. If in disagreement with previously
established corner, show the distances between the two corers a . o indicate the ties to the
disputed corner. vo cocsr—ale a
TAe-.t .,.' 89' 20-I bE t,aass
to-
s2/-.511-2/4/ 85 \114.1G,z;z.3'W'!-000S•Y
vv ` s zs•69-?2E
30,85'
N l3-SS Io 5714
'S 23 5 76 22 S2
5'9.98' e.zi' 219 '
`gas
dWCD
r I.AW
s
'NO SCALE 50,87'
13EAR1A/G5— WIS.
