A just beyond the broken edge of the <br /> pavement. The railroad spike appears to have been found by Dan Paulson in 2002 with CSM No. 10654 and <br /> the origin of the railroad spike is not known. Other surveys in the area show the quarter section lines as <br /> straight lines from the north-south and the east-west. The Railroad Spike falls approximately 0.39' North and <br /> 0.08' East of the intersection of the North-South and East-West quarter lines which is approximately 20 feet <br /> east of the field occupation line to the south. The location of the Railroad Spike was accepted as it has been <br /> used in surveys in the area and very near a split of the section.
