Klinkner, Patrick
From: slhsla.sh33 <slhsla.sh33 @gmail.com>
Sent: Wednesday, December 10, 2014 10:25 PM
To: Klinkner, Patrick
Subject: RE: 1170 Hageman Rd Belleville
Patrick thank you for your follow up on this I wouldn't want an e.coli scare to ruin the farmers market just do to
someones ignorance.
Seni from my U S.CellularR Smartphone
Original message
From: "Klinkner, Patrick"
Date:12/09/2014 7:35 AM (GMT-06:00)
To: "'slhsla.sh33"'
Subject: RE: 1170 Hageman Rd Belleville
Sharen,
I've been in contact with the property owner. The yurt is being used as a secondary farm residence and must be
permitted for such use. This will mean that a conditional use permit must be applied for and approved by the town and
county. It is an approval process with a public hearing at the county level, and maybe one at the town level as well. The
property owner has been cooperative and will be working with me to move this process forward.According to the
property owner, the residents(step daughter and boyfriend) of the yurt either use a bathroom in the main house, an
outhouse in the yard,or they use buckets filled with water to dispose of human waste.According to a Dane County
Sanitarian that I spoke with; this department regulates septic and sanitary systems, if a water line doesn't go to the
house (yurt)then they would have no authority over the disposal of such waste. I'm not sure of any state agency that
might have any authority over this either. It might be an item that is brought up at the various meetings during the
conditional use permit process. The fact that there is a working outhouse on the land, the different committees may find
that sufficient.Anyway, this is what was found and now we'll move ahead with the conditional use permit process.
Thank you for bringing this matter to my attention. Our department looks to move these uses toward compliance.
Pat Klinkner
Dane County Zoning Inspector
) ic C•kc I Y\.
608-266-9082
From: slhsla.sh33 [mailto:slhsla.sh33@gmail.com]
Sent: Wednesday, November 19, 2014 11:54 AM
1
