After reviewing the site plan I have
determined proposed development will require a shoreland erosion control permit. This permit issued by Dane
County Land and Water Resources will be required prior to the issuance of a shoreland zoning permit.
This determination has been on a slight reduction in post-development impervious surfaces. The shoreland
ordinance allows existing impervious surfaces to be relocated on the property. The new impervious surface will be
offset by the removal of an existing concrete area(62 square feet).
Prior to issuance of a shoreland zoning permit for the proposed development the following conditions must be
satisfied:
1. Obtain an approved shoreland erosion control permit from Dane County Land and Water Resources.
Once the above conditions are satisfied your shoreland zoning permit will be issued with the following conditions
and you may proceed to apply for the standard zoning permit:
1. Dane County regulates change of topography within 5 feet of property lines. Your application indicated
"Being that the garage is to be extended 8'towards the West there will be added runoff surface that needs
to be managed Currently the roof run off is being captured by a gutter/down spout and directed on the
surface towards the lake but not into the lake, where it is filtered through lawn vegetation. We are
installing new gutters on the house and as a result this will continue to be the case once the garage is
extended" The gutter/downspout system outlet must be installed to direct stormwater to remain on the
property and not negatively effect neighboring properties.
2. The 62 square foot area of concrete to be removed must be restored to a vegetated state capable of
infiltrating water(deep tilling is recommended.)
3. Eaves must not extend beyond 3 feet into a required setback.
4. Setback requirements are measured to finished wall. Location of this addition is critical and a location
survey will be required to verify setback requirements.
Please feel free to contact me directly with any questions or further information.
Sincerely,
Hans Hilbert
Assistant Zoning Administrator
County of Dane
608-266-4993
h i lbert.hans(a,,countyofdane.coin
210 Martin Luther King Jr.Blvd.•City-County Bldg,Room 116+Madison,WI 53703-3342+Phone:608.266.4266•Fax:608.267.1540
C:\Users\tjohnson\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.Crtlook\14NMN9E6\Dunn-S-Plambeck-DCPSHL.-
2015-00014.docx Revision 03.18.2007
