City of Sun Prairie,Wisconsin <br /> Presented: <br /> A RESOLUTION APPROVING A REQUEST BY <br /> SHELTER FROM THE STORM MINISTRIES TO Adopted: <br /> DANE COUNTY REQUESTING APPROVAL TO <br /> REZONE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 3392 File Number: <br /> BROOKS DRIVE WITHIN THE TOWN OF <br /> BURKE FROM THE C-2 COMMERCIAL TO THE Resolution No.: <br /> R-2 RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT,ALONG WITH A <br /> CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO ALLOW FOR <br /> COMMUNITY LIVING FOR MORE THAN 16 <br /> PEOPLE,ON PROPERTY MORE FULLY <br /> DESCRIBED AS: LOT 1 CSM 10689 CS63/245&246- <br /> 3/5/2003 F/K/A LOT 1 CSM 2730 CS11/8-11 & ALSO <br /> INCL& DESCR AS SEC 12-8-10 PRT NE1/4SW1/4 <br /> &PRT NW 1/4SW 1/4(0.765 ACRES EXCL R/W). <br /> SHELTER FROM THE STORM MINISTRIES— <br /> REZONING AND CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT <br /> TO OPERATE A HOMELESS SHELTER <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> WHEREAS,there has been submitted a request by Shelter From the Storm Ministries for <br /> approval of a petition to Dane County to rezone property located at 3392 Brooks Drive within the Town <br /> of Burke,along with a conditional use permit to allow for community living for more than 16 people,on <br /> property more fully described as: LOT 1 CSM 10689 CS63/245&246-3/5/2003 F/K/A LOT 1 CSM 2730 <br /> CS11/8-11 &ALSO INCL &DESCR AS SEC 12-8-10 PRT NE1/4SW1/4&PRT NW1/4SW1/4(0.765 <br /> ACRES EXCL R/W).,and, <br /> WHEREAS,the City of Sun Prairie has adopted a comprehensive plan to guide the development <br /> and growth of the City, including the implementation of a desired community character;and, <br /> WHEREAS,the City of Sun Prairie is a party to a Cooperative Plan that includes the City of Sun <br /> Prairie,the City of Madison,the Village of DeForest,and the Town of Burke,that provides for the <br /> eventual dissolution of Burke after a Protected Period of approximately thirty years(2037); and, <br /> WHEREAS,the aforementioned Cooperative Plan states that any development in the Town <br /> shall,in addition to Town requirements,be subject to approval by DeForest,Madison or Sun Prairie; <br /> depending upon which municipality the subject territory will eventually be attached to;and, <br /> WHEREAS,the lands located at 3392 Brooks Drive are planned to become part of the City of <br /> Sun Prairie,as included in the Cooperative Plan;and, <br /> WHEREAS,on Tuesday,January 13,2015 the Plan Commission held a public meeting to <br /> consider the request for approval of the re-zoning and conditional use; and, <br />
