Taylor is an Assured Wetland
Delineator under Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources guidelines.Taylor also
completed the following courses that prepared him for performing wetland determinations
and delineations in Wisconsin using the Army Corps of Engineers 1987 Manual Method:
Wetland Plant Identification (July 2003,Delafield,WI. —Biotic Consultants,Inc.)
➢ Basic Wetland Delineation Training(August 2003,Wisconsin Rapids,WI.—UW La
Crosse Continuing Education/Extension)
> Advanced Wetland Delineation Training(August 2006,Cable,WI. &July 2012,
LaCrosse,WI—UW La Crosse Continuing Education/Extension)
Introduction
On May 8`h of 2014,Scott Taylor of Taylor Conservation,LLC performed wetland
determinations and delineations on the K&L Farm LLC property. The property was
divided between the Town of Albion,Dane County,Wisconsin to the north, and the Town
of Fulton,Rock County to the south (Figure 1). The property occupied flat,low-lying crop
fields with tree groves and grassy areas on the field margins (Figure 2). Drainage ditches
(possibly straightened streams) followed the edges of the property.
Five low areas within the crop fields, and the margins of the drainage ditches, were found to
be wetlands (Figure 2).
Mr. Daniel Krueger, owner of K&L Farms LLC,would like to build aquaculture ponds in
the crop fields. He ordered a wetland delineation for planning purposes.
The project area was comprised of two separate areas, which together covered approximately
44 acres.A total of approximately 9.2 acres of wetlands were delineated across five wetland
basins. The site is in Section 32 (SWSW) T5N,R12E (Dane County),and in Section 5
(NENW),T4N,R12E (Rock County).
The purpose of this report is to explain the results of the wetland delineation and to describe
the features of the wetlands and non-wetlands (uplands) in the project area.
Methods
The following reference materials were reviewed prior to performing fieldwork:
1) Natural Resource Conservation Service, Soil Survey.
2) Wisconsin Wetland Inventory maps (WDNR Surface Water Data Viewer—Wetlands
Theme).
1 Taylor Conservation LLC
