Klinkner, Patrick
From: Lisa Zenz [Izenz @gcionline.com]
Sent: Friday, August 28, 2009 2:34 PM
To: Schutte, Kristine
Cc: Shore, Ryan; Klinkner, Patrick
Subject: RE: Kerry Zenz shed -Dane County Zoning Itr regarding waterway
Good afternoon,
Attached please find the document that states there is no navigable stream. Brian Droessler kindly forwarded to
me his legal documentation for your review.
Please let me know if you have any further questions.
Thank you,
Kerry
From: Schutte, Kristine [mailto:Schutte @co.dane.wi.us]
Sent: Wednesday, August 26, 2009 6:03 PM
To: Lisa Zenz
Cc: Shore, Ryan; Klinkner, Patrick
Subject: FW: Kerry Zenz shed documents/photos
TO: Kerry& Lisa Zenz
FROM: Dane County Assistant Zoning Administrator Kris Schutte
RE: Lot 1, CSM 12659, PIN 0606-181-8160-0 -2692 County Highway F, Blue Mounds 18
Kerry,
I hope you will allow me to use first names; please call me Kris.
I apologize for taking a few days to respond to your email. It may be that I confused your query with another I've
addressed recently from a party named Enz. I'm sorry for any inconvenience.
Thank you for the photos, site plan and elevation for the proposed shed. As I recall, you are hoping to obtain a
Dane County Zoning Permit for the 30'x50'outbuilding. I have the following questions and comments:
1) What is the proposed use of the shed? What will be stored inside, or how will it be used? You didn't state this
in your email, and I didn't want to trust my memory or meager notes. The use will determine the maximum height
and size for the proposed shed.
2) You didn't show any driveway to access the new shed. Aerial photos of your parcel show a long driveway
from CTH F to the house. Would you extend this driveway to the shed? Would there be any parking area near
the shed? Please add these (and the existing driveway)to your site plan and contact Ryan Shore at the Dane
County Land Conservation office (224-3738)about the need for a Soil Erosion Control Permit or for a Shoreland
Erosion Control Permit--see 3) below.
3) It appears there is a navigable stream near the proposed shed location. The area within 300 feet on both
sides of the stream is part of the Shoreland District. The shed must be located a minimum of 75 feet from the
bank of the stream, or you could request a Navigability Determination ($125 fee-- I looked in our records, but did
not find one for this location).
4) Based on your site plan, the setback from CTH F and north lot line would comply with Zoning Ordinance
8/31/2009
