Mahr needs a CUP for
"veterinary hospital", and also wishes to allow himself the flexibility to provide pet boarding,
grooming, and training, which is another Conditional Use in the C-1 district.
Soils: 100%Class I-II
Uses: 100%Cropland
REGIONAL PLANNING
Petition 7438—CUP 1538. This proposed veterinary clinic, and dog and cat boarding, grooming and
training facilities is in an agricultural preservation area of the Town of Oregon. The proposal appears
reasonably consistent with the relevant town/county policy:
"Only commercial uses clearly and principally related to agricultural production shall
be considered for approval in the Agricultural Preservation Area Category."
However, C-1 commercial zoning permits many uses which are not ag-related and would be in conflict
at this rural location. Therefore, there needs to be specific conditions on the rezoning to only permit the
uses requested and not other uses permitted by the C-1 zoning district.
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH (septic, etc.)
None
DANE COUNTY HIGHWAY
CTH"CC"is a controlled access highway. No new accesses can be permitted. A joint use access
permit will be required along the east property line to serve the veterinary clinic and the remaining
agricultural property.
OTHER
