Johnson, Chair <br /> and Members <br /> Dane County Zoning and Natural Resources Committee <br /> Room 116, City-County Building <br /> Madison, Wisconsin 53709 <br /> RE : DANE COUNTY ORDINANCE AMENDMENT NO. 6714 <br /> Dear Chairperson Johnson and Members, <br /> I am writing on behalf of Milwaukee Repeater Service to <br /> request the amendment of a provision of a Deed Restriction <br /> imposed as a condition of the Zoning Amendment referenced above . <br /> The property affected by this zoning amendment is the site of a <br /> major telecommunications tower which was constructed in 1997 by <br /> Cellular One under an agreement with Milwaukee Repeater Service . <br /> This property has been used as a telecommunications tower site <br /> since the late 1940' s when Wisconsin Telephone first constructed <br /> a tower on this site. The present tower replaced an existing <br /> tower on the same parcel built in the 1960' s . <br /> Access for repair and maintenance of the antennae facilities <br /> located on and at the tower site is made by use of an easement <br /> extending some 2100 feet from the terminus of Skidmore Road to <br /> the tower site. This easement was granted to Milwaukee Repeater <br /> Service in 1973 by the previous owner of the lands located <br /> between the tower site and Skidmore Road. These lands presently <br /> include a parts of two quarter-quarter sections of the Tom <br /> Sisulak Farm and a rural residential lot (Lot 1 of CSM 5588) <br /> owned by Steve Grohman. <br /> During County and Town deliberations on the ordinance <br /> amendment, Mr. Grohman requested that the rezoning of the <br /> property be subject to the condition that the easement be <br /> abandoned and a new easement or right of way be obtained. On <br /> October 28 , 1996 , the Pleasant Springs Town Board approved the <br /> rezoning subject to four conditions, including the condition <br />
