ZNR Committee
Page 2
August 13, 1998
The Town has approved with conditions, but none of the conditions address the
residential use. One condition does require no further subdivision of these two lots.
Other factors:
The prospective owner/operator of the agribusiness and residence also
participates in farming the balance of the farmland.
- There is a large mineral extraction operation less than 1/4 mile west.
- A neighbor has expressed opposition to the rezoning.
4. Alternatives for action:
a. If the existence of a residence at this site is the issue, the A-B zoning could be
granted, with a condition placed on the rezoning that no residence be permitted on-
site.
b. If the residence can be rationalized as associated with the business, the rezoning could
be granted with the Town's proposed conditions.
c. If the neighbor's opposition is compelling, the petition could be denied.
TLS:lel
cc: Jeanie Sieling, Director, Dane Co.
