a
Dear Zoning Committee,
Regarding Petition 7409, perhaps you could consider a site visit
and review the new Roxbury development guidelines; also there is the
fact that the family seeking the rezone owns two residential lots,
undeveloped and have homes on three sides, plus is in an area served
by public sewer service. In contrast, 7409's proposed home site is to
be built upon farmland of statewide significance, according to the
maps in the Roxbury land use plan. Inasmuch as the plan includes
various statements encouraging farmland preservation.... "require
new development near existing development"...."discourage
development in agricultural districts"...."no roads or driveways
crossing agricultural land to reach non-farm development". Please
consider denial of this at least until you have made a site visit and
examined neighbor concerns as to how this impacts their tax
assessments for the large wooded area here, with many farm.owners
affected
Sincerely,
I
/
j' /, 1
