Bird Street, Section 7 <br /> Dear Mr. Gregorius: <br /> On behalf of the City of Sun Prairie, I wish to appeal the action of the Town of Sun Prairie regarding the <br /> above-referenced petition. <br /> The City of Sun Prairie submitted a petition to request that we be permitted to place a recycling center in the <br /> Town of Sun Prairie. This would replace the center currently being used which is also located within the Town of Sun <br /> Prairie. The proposed recycle center would be placed on property owned by the Sun Prairie Water and Light <br /> Commission, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the City of Sun Prairie. <br /> Prior to the Town Board meeting, the City received favorable recommendations from the Town's public <br /> meeting and the Dane County Planning and Development Staff Report. It is also my understanding that none of the <br /> Town Board members actually opposed this concept or site. <br /> Based upon the minutes of the Town Board meeting, it appears that since the Town feels that we are "bad <br /> neighbors,"they did not wish to approve our request. It is our opinion that a decision made upon a good neighbor/bad <br /> neighbor policy is totally arbitrary and capricious. The selection of a recycle center site should be measured solely on <br /> the facts surrounding the case. <br /> The City has to date not received any type of official notification of the denial of our request.
