CITY OF MADISON <br /> INTERDEPARTMENTAL <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> TO: Jim Gragorius, Zoning Administrator <br /> Dane County Planning &Development <br /> FROM: Bill Roberts, City of Madison Department of Planning & Development <br /> DATE: July 16, 1998 <br /> SUBJECT: Conditional Use Application 2814 Syene Road <br /> Thank you for your notice regarding a pending conditional use permit for a proposed new tower <br /> located adjacent to the City of Madison at 2814 Syene Road. This is to inform you that the <br /> Madison City Plan Commission at their meeting of November 25, 1996 approved a conditional <br /> use application for a communications tower for "PrimeCo" PSC Systems on a nearby parcel <br /> located at 2921 Syene Road. A permit for this tower was issued shortly thereafter. Among the <br /> conditions of approval that the Plan Commission imposed on the communications tower at 2921 <br /> Syene Road was that the tower operator would not prevent or deny space on the tower, building <br /> or site for other carriers as a way to minimize tower proliferation and encourage the use of <br /> existing sites. I have attached the letter of approval and a locator map for the approved tower <br /> located within the City of Madison. If you feel there is an opportunity for both of these users to <br /> share the same site or tower, please let me know and we will do what we can to cooperate with <br /> County staff and the applicant to encourage co-location or multi-use of the existing or proposed <br /> facility.
