r -
there is 1.5 acres of Al land on this 2 acre parcel I am very curious to know why
he can get approval where we could not.
There is also the issue of allowing someone to build a residence in a waterway.
Of course, if the terrace was removed, as will likely happen if this property is
rezoned, this won't be an issue, erosion will!
Another concern is the fact that a short while ago (within the last 2 years) I
attended a Dane County Board meeting where Mr. Burrell unequivocally stated
that a parcel that he was rezoning at that time, to the south of our property, was
"the last parcel he was allowed to rezone from that farm". if this indeed was the
case how is it that now he is requesting to rezone another parcel? If this wasn't
the case, why did he state it at that time?
I may sound like a hypocrite since we moved into this beautiful area and now
could be perceived as wanting to prevent others from doing the same. It is true
that one of the reasons I moved to the country was that being raised on a farm I
like my privacy. However, the real reasons I am pursuing this issue are twofold.
First, THIS IS AMERICA. In this great country we are supoposed to have one set
of rules / laws that applies to everyone. Second, we as a community, a state
and a nation cannot allow housing to be built on prime farmland. The township
has an excellent land use plan. Allowing Mr. Burrell to go forward with this
rezoning will turn it into a sham and set a precedent for rampant future misuse. A
day will come when our children and our children's children will thank us for
guarding this valuable resource because it will likely mean the difference
between life and death! Please consider this in your decision making process.
Thank You
Sincerely ,
Rod Dahlen
