We are advised that the request is to zone the adjacent property as residential . As each of you are well aware, the Carpenter property is and has been an actively zoned mineral extraction site for the past approximate 35 years. An enormous _quantity of remaining minerals, stone and sand exist In unextracted form. It is estimated that said quarrying operation will continue in the immediate ffuture orandditional minimum of 20 years before the extraction site fully de We strongly feel that any zoning change at this time would be extremely detrimental to all parties concerned. Becadse of the im- mediate proximity of the property in question to the Carpenter quarry, an approval for the construction of a contingent residence would cause a severe hardship for all interested persons. The very nature of the quarrying operation itself makes it detrimental to be located immediately adjacent to a proposed dwelling.
