ry 'V ,ti ASGentlemen: /:', r mot,',
'/ u.-' . a f',' ,3 On behalf of the adjacent property owners Norman, Thomas - , •j( /
Carpenter and Janet M. Carpenter, we desire to herewith formally file ' '
an objection to the rezoning of the property, adjacent to their existing
quarry. We are advised that the request is to zone the adjacent property
as residential .
As each of you are well aware, the Carpenter property is
and has been an actively zoned mineral extraction site for the past
approximate 35 years. An enormous _quantity of remaining minerals, stone
and sand exist In unextracted form. It is estimated that said quarrying
operation will continue in the immediate ffuture orandditional minimum
of 20 years before the extraction site fully de
We strongly feel that any zoning change at this time would
be extremely detrimental to all parties concerned. Becadse of the im-
mediate proximity of the property in question to the Carpenter quarry,
an approval for the construction of a contingent residence would cause
a severe hardship for all interested persons. The very nature of the
quarrying operation itself makes it detrimental to be located immediately
adjacent to a proposed dwelling. To allow a rezoning change will undoubtedly
present in the future many problems to you as members of the Town Board,
which you can
said
arise by entering desire
our
a objection
alleeviate te these problems
at this time.
The economic livelihood of the Carpenters may well depend
in oppose future continued
oppose zoning g
residential housing, in such a close proximity to this
long existing and established mineral site.
Thanking you- for your consideration of our opposition
to the pending Petition for rezoning, we are,
Sincerely,
Norman Thomas Cafpe ter, Owner
• 'iii_ _ -
=net M.
