The culvert size is proposed to be 15 inch diameter by
65ft long. Note: The existing perime er fence is also moving 185ft to the west. This
commercial driveway and security g.te will handle the normal business traffic of ATC's
Cottage Grove facility. The location of this driveway considers all future expansions.
2) 16ft Field Access Driveway: he current field access driveway will be blocked by
the expanded ATC perimeter fence nd need to be abandoned. The new field access
(gravel) driveway is proposed to be r located 170ft to the west which will clear the
expanded ATC perimeter fence. Th culvert size is proposed to be 15 inch diameter by
30ft long. The centerline separation f these 2 driveways in 82ft, applying the Town of
Pleasant Springs policy of 200ft sep ration would not meet WisDOT minimum corner
clearance requirement of 155ft. This field access driveway will continue to have limited
usage, namely field access for tenan farmer Mr. Skaar for agriculture practices,
maintenance access for ATC's reloc ted septic system which will be relocated to the
southwest area of the perimeter fenc line, and emergency vehicle access to the
southwest perimeter by Cottage Gro e emergency responders, if needed. This field
entrance allows Mr. Skaar the only a cess to the larger crop field on the south side of
the property as shown on the aerial Map. Access from the east side is limited due to
the steep slope of the property.
These plan sets have not been filed ith WisDOT at this time until local permitting is
reviewed. ATC has presented drafts of these driveway relocations to WisDOT Engrs
Mike Ostrowski and Dean Stodola a d have received comments below in addition to the
minimum corner clearance requirem nt above.
"The issue to be concerned about is ith the proximity of both driveways to the
intersection of CTH `N' and Rinden oad; being that close can be a safety concern.
Specifically, the concern is for vehicl s accessing Rinden Road from either driveway.
Issues may arise with vehicles that a e north bound on CTH N who are turning right
onto Rinden Road. In particular, vehicles egressing from that "16' field driveway
relocation" will need to be concerned with CTH N traffic turning east bound onto Rinden
Road.
Having said that —given the fact that the proposed 16' wide driveway will be in essence
simply a field entrance. This should mean that very few vehicles will ever use that
driveway. So, while not an ideal situation, it is OK in my opinion."
Helping to keep the lights on, businesses running and communities strong®
