The
C-1 area would include an existing 30' x 80' building to be used as a"grooming salon and
boarding kennel" for 100 dogs and cats only; a proposed 30' x 30' addition to this building
would be used for a veterinary clinic. The Knipfer's would live in the existing SFR on the
remaining 4.498 acres of the RH-2 parcel; they would also keep 2 horses.
Existing CSM and `preliminary' site plan in file; more detailed site plan requested 7/7/98.
REGIONAL PLANNING
Petition 7292. This proposed veterinary clinic with boarding, grooming and training facilities
appears reasonably consistent with the adopted town/county policies in the Town of Medina.
However, since C-1 zoning permits many uses which are not compatible at this location, there
needs to be a condition in the C-1 zoning which permits only these specific uses and not the other
heavy commercial and industrial uses permitted in the C-1 District.
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH (septic, etc.)
Petition 7292/CUP 1511. There is no information in our file regarding the exact age, size or
construction of the existing private sewage system at this premises. An approved private sewage
system will be rquired for the proposed veterinary clinic. Consideration should be given to the
provisions for controlling noise and odors which can be associated with this type of operation.
DANE COUNTY HIGHWAY
OTHER
