P.m 116 <br /> Martin Luther King Blvd. <br /> Madison, WI <br /> To Whom It May C 3ncern: <br /> In a letter dated Atli;ust of 1997,my husband and I requested a rezone of a property in the <br /> Town of Medina fog the purpose of building our residence and a veterinary <br /> clinic/grooming salon/boarding kennel. After nine months of working very hard to fulfill <br /> all of the requireme:its, our zoning and conditional use permits were approved. We had <br /> our mound system c esigned, a certified survey done,a driveway permit issued, blueprints <br /> drawn up and on M;ay 26 we picked up our sanitary permit. We had an excavator <br /> scheduled for May 2 0 to begin our long-awaited construction and all we needed was our <br /> building permit. I took the sanitary permit up to the zoning office on the afternoon of the <br /> 26th, only to find oL t that we had purchased a piece of property located in a protected <br /> wetlands! I am wondering whose research reponsibility it was to find this out, as we had <br /> all the flood plain maps checked prior to starting this disappointing and expensive <br /> endeavor. To date,we have spent$5500.00 worth of fees etc. in addition to the <br /> $11,000.00 down payment on the Iand and the time invested in the rezone. The sellers of <br /> the property have agreed to release us from the purchase of the property and refund the <br /> $11,000.00 down payment, but my husband and I will have to take the$5,500.00 loss. <br /> The purpose of this letter is not to place blame as I think everyone involved is a little bit <br /> at fault and we have no choice but to accept the financial loss. I wish to request a rezone <br /> and CUP for another piece of property located at 1 121 Fly 19, Marshall, WI 53559. I <br /> have included a cum nt CSM with the proposed Cl section and detailed site plan. All of <br /> the neighbors have been contacted regarding our plans and have given us their approval. <br /> I understand the board's reluctance in handing out Cl zoning to us at multiple locations <br /> which is why I am w.11ing to pay any associated fees with having the Hy TT location <br /> removed if necessary. <br /> Thank you for your c 3nsideration, <br /> It1J►' � . <br /> 4 vim, blivn <br /> Dr. Laura Knipfer, D ✓M <br />
