The Larsen's wish to sell the 9 acres to their son,Cal, who has worked with them <br /> on this farm and on their land in Rock County. Cal plans to raise about 30 feeder steers in the <br /> buildings on the 9 acre parcel. Because the A-2(8)district limits pennitted livestock to one animal unit <br /> (in this case,one steer)per acre, a CUP for unlimited livestock is required. Cal also operates a semi- <br /> tractor/trailer, which will be parked in front of the 4-car garage. This use is permitted in the A-2(8) <br /> district if a Certificate of Compliance is issued meeting certain conditions(see Section 10.16(1Xd),)or <br /> it may be a Conditional Use. The Larsen's choose to apply for the Conditional Use Permit for <br /> "Parking or storage of not more than two trucks, semi-tractors,or semi-trailers which have a gross <br /> vehicle weight of over 12,000 lbs."(Section 10.126(3)(1). <br /> Soils: 95%Class I-II, 5%Class III <br /> Uses: 60%Crops,40%Buildings&yard <br /> REGIONAL PLANNING <br /> Petition 7328—CUP 1520. This appears reasonably consistent with policies;however the animal <br /> units need to be limited to 30 as indicated in the application.
