This proposed residential site meets most of the rezoning policy criteria; however, <br /> there is a question concerning access as expressed in the following town/county criteria in the <br /> Town of Cross Plains: <br /> "Land which will allow construction of a road or driveway suitable for emergency <br /> vehicle travel and safe access onto existing roadways. Compliance with the Town <br /> Driveway Ordnance will be required. Every effort will be made to avoid having <br /> roads or driveways cross agricultural land to reach proposed non farm <br /> development." <br /> We note that the proposed access to this site from STH 78 is over a private drive which is <br /> currently providing access for two residences which are east of STH 78 and west of the proposed <br /> A-2(1) site. This drive follows a valley uphill to the east. <br /> This access arrangement is further complicated in that all of the drive from STH 78 to Petition <br /> 7161 is in the Town of Vermont, while Petition 7161 itself is in the Town of Cross Plains. <br /> To meet the policy criteria, there needs to be assurance that the road or driveway be suitable for <br /> emergency vehicle travel and safe access onto the existing roadway. <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH (septic, etc.) <br /> DANE COUNTY HIGHWAY <br /> OTHER <br />
