Schumacher Farm <br /> This 37.5-acres site in the Town of Westport was donated to•the <br /> public for development of a prairie and open air museum. Future <br /> plans include demonstrations of farming practices of the early 1900s. <br /> Recommendations. Long-range plans include prairie restoration and <br /> nature trail construction. Acquire additional lands. Extend the for- <br /> malized agreement which was established in 1995 with the Friends <br /> of Schumacher Farm. <br /> Upper Black Earth Creek Area <br /> Approximately 79 acres have been acquired in the Town of <br /> Middleton. <br /> Recommendations. Prepare a project plan for this study area which <br /> extends from the City of Middleton across the Towns of Middleton <br /> and Cross Plains and on to the Village of Cross Plains. It includes <br /> features of ridgetops, steep slopes, floodplains and wetlands. <br /> PROPOSED RESOURCE AREAS <br /> Badger Mill Creek Resource Area <br /> This proposal recommends the wetlands and adjacent uplands along <br /> Badger Mill Creek be protected from Badger Prairie Park south to <br /> the confluence of the Sugar River. Estimated acreage for this area is <br /> approximately 300 acres. <br /> Blooming Grove Drumlin Area <br /> This proposed resource area is located in the Town of Blooming <br /> Grove and its study area is approximately 700 acres in size. It in- <br /> cludes a number of <br /> drumlins and adjacent <br /> wetlands along the <br /> Door Creek drainage . <br /> system. <br /> Door Creek Wetlands <br /> Located in the Towns <br /> of Dunn and Pleasant <br /> Springs, this study <br /> area is approximately 1 <br /> 700 acres in size. The <br /> marsh within this area rests on one of the major peat deposits of the <br /> Yahara River System. <br /> Pleasure Valley Resource Area <br /> This area is located in western Dane County within Blue Mounds <br /> and Vermont townships north of Brigham Park. This wooded and oak <br /> savannah valley stretches from CTH F on the east to Blue Mound <br /> State Park on the west. The area comprises approximately 700 to <br /> LEA fie p 20 37 <br />
