Subject: Request for Conditional Use Permit for mineral extraction in the Town of <br /> Verona, Dane Co., Wisconsin <br /> Tax Parcel Numbers: 31-0608-284-8500-9 <br /> 31-0608-284-9000-2 <br /> 31-0608-284-9500-7 <br /> Legal Description: Attached, Exhibit E-1 <br /> Current Zoning: Al Exclusive <br /> Current Use: Farmland, crops, and pasture <br /> Proposed Use: Mineral extraction (sand & gravel extraction, processing, delivery) <br /> Reclaimed Use: Fish farming <br /> Surrounding Uses: Primarily agricultural, with a small residential area in the northeast <br /> quadrant of STH 69 and Manhattan Dr., and south of Riverside Dr. <br /> A catalogued Indian mound is located along the easterly property line as described in the <br /> survey and as shown on the plans. The Indian mound will be secured by a fence erected <br /> twenty feet around the described Indian mound location. <br /> No buildings are on the property. <br /> No permanent buildings are planned. <br /> No additional public services will be required. <br /> Areas of the site which are not involved in excavation or processing will continue to be <br /> used as crop land. <br /> The mineral extraction phases will be fenced, gated, signed, and surrounded by seeded, 15 <br /> ft. high earthen berms to ensure security, reduce visibility of the operations, and to contain <br /> noise. <br /> All excavation will be set back from property lines and right of way lines a minimum of <br /> 100 feet. <br /> There will be no drilling or blasting. <br /> All topsoil will remain on site. <br /> Traffic: <br /> • Access to the site operations area will be via a W.D.O.T. approved entrance on <br /> STH 69. <br /> • The haul road will be paved. <br /> It is expected that most truck loads will travel north on STH 69 to USH <br /> 18/151. <br /> • No significant impact on STH 69 traffic is expected. <br /> • See attached letter from Paulson and Associates.
