IN. THE MATTER OF THE APPLICATION OF MADISON
COUNTRY DAY SCHOOL FOR A CONDITIONAL USE
PERMIT IN THE TOWN OF WESTPORT
AFFIDAVIT OF JOHN VAN DINTER
STATE OF WISCONSIN)
ss .
COUNTY OF DANE
I, John Van Dinter, having first been duly sworn, state
under oath as follows :
1 . I am an adult resident of the State of Wisconsin and
the Chairman of the Town of Westport . I also work with Waunakee
Area Emergency Medical Services .
2 . On July 1, 1997, at 11 : 56 a.m. , I drove my automobile
from the ambulance garage at Waunakee Area Emergency Medical
Services to the proposed site of Madison Country Day School on
Onken Road. During this trip I observed all posted speed limits,
waited for traffic, and stopped at all stop signs and stop
lights. This trip took six minutes and forty-one seconds .
3 . The time necessary to complete the above trip could be
reduced by about one-third if taken by an ambulance operating in
an emergency mode. Thus, the response time for an ambulance or
other emergency vehicle would be approximately four minutes and
fifteen seconds . This is a much better response time than
Madison Fire Rescue has to many of the Madison schools.
4 . The proposed site for Madison Country Day School would
be well served by police and fire protection as well . The area
in which the school site is located is policed by the Dane County
