From: Self <DC CCB 1/MDR1 >
To: standing @co.dane.wi.us, dcrpcadm@execpc.com
Subject: Pending Petition in Town of Montrose [ATTN: Smiley]
Date sent: Fri, 4 Sep 1998 13:32:51 -0600
Brian and Tom:
Today, I spoke with a Mrs. Salisbury who owns land in the Town of
Montrose.
The general situation is that her family originally owned 160 acres
with a house. They subsequently sold 40 acres off to a man who got
rezoning approval for a smaller homesite, with the residual being
rezoned to A-2. Unfortunately, there was no deed restriction placed
on the remainder. These two zoning lots have not yet been divided
into two legal parcels, so only one home may be built there for now.
Another 40 of the original 160 was just sold off, and there was a
rezoning approved for a smaller parcel on that land (Petition 7192).
The remainder was rezoned A-2, but this time there was a deed
restriction placed on the remainder parcel.
Given that the original 160 acres has only one split left, the
Salisbury's are very anxious to retain that split for themselves, and
not have the owner of the original 40 that was split off "exercise" it
with the approval of a CSM.
The Salisbury's will likely submit a rezoning request for a new
homesite in the next several days. It may be for an entire 40 acres
currently being farmed to A-2. I advised here that she should
consider a smaller 2-5 acre rezone closer to where her existing
residence is.
If either of you would like to talk with me when this petition comes
forward, please don't hesitate to call.
