March 2, 1998 <br /> Robert and Sandra Rego <br /> 1828 Highway PB <br /> Verona, WI 53593 <br /> Our intent is to move our present farmhouse to the southeast corner of this farm. Then, replace it with a <br /> new farmhouse on the present site. The reasons we wish to rezone this proposed lot and move our <br /> present house on to it are: <br /> 1. The cellar walls are sandstone which are impossible to seal against the constant water <br /> seepage <br /> 2. The porosity of the sandstone walls and odd crawl spaces could allow radon levels above <br /> recommended levels. <br /> 3. The house was extensively remodeled 11 years ago making it both too valuable to <br /> tear down and a waste of building resources if we did tear it down. <br /> 4. The present farmhouse is located 37 feet from the Highway PB right-of-way , 13 feet <br /> too close to allow major remodeling without an approved variance. <br /> 5. This present farmhouse is small and inefficient for the needs of our family. Moving it to the <br /> new site will allow us to provide a suitable foundation and therefore increase the usable square footage <br /> for new owners. <br /> 6. Our research shows the cost to raise the house, move it back 13+feet and place it on a new <br /> foundation is identical to moving this house to this proposed lot <br /> 7. Our desire is to build a new farmhouse on our present site that meets the needs of our family <br /> and all current building requirements . <br /> fa—le"" <br />
