The request for rezoning is based <br /> on the fact that we do not intend to develop this for commercial use but rather <br /> intend to develop this property as a retirement community for persons 55 and <br /> older. It will include single story, tri and four-plex buildings as well as a 48 unit <br /> apartment building all for people 55 and older. We feel that R-4 zoning is the <br /> correct zoning for this type of development. The project will be served by public <br /> water and sewer and private roads through the retirement community. The time <br /> schedule for development would call for construction to begin in the summer of <br /> 1998 on sewer and water and site work, with construction of initial buildings to <br /> begin in late 1998. individual retirement homes will be built on an as-sold basis <br /> over approximately a five year period.
