This site, currently zoned LC-1 in an agricultural preservation area of the Town of <br /> Springfield, raises some policy issues. <br /> Because it is an agricultural area,policies permit only agricultural business or home occupations, if a <br /> rural location is required to serve farmers. Thus, antique vehicle restoration does not appear to meet <br /> this criteria. <br /> However, this site has been zoned LC-1 for some time, and the buildings are set back from the road <br /> and away from other residences. <br /> The request is for C-2 zoning, which would permit many incompatible uses at this site. The impact <br /> could be minimized if the site were conditionally rezoned to specify: <br /> - the use is limited to antique vehicle repair and restoration <br /> - all activities to take place within the existing building <br /> - inside storage and screened parking of vehicles awaiting repair. <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH (septic, etc.) <br /> Petition 7033. Consideration should be given to the provisions being made for proper collection and <br /> disposal of petroleum products, degreasers and solvents that are associated with this type of operation. <br /> Improper collection and disposal can result in groundwater contamination. <br /> DANE COUNTY HIGHWAY <br /> None <br /> OTHER <br />
