The applicant is requesting a CUP for religious uses tol build a retreat on a. 34.6 acre <br /> parcel of land. Such retreat is a building of approximately 3,000 square feet. It would <br /> be used for retreats, and meditation for a congregation which has approximately 50 <br /> members in the Madison area and is in existence as a legal tax-exempt organization since <br /> 1983. <br /> B. The parcel is wooded and with wetlands. The intent is to make it a nature preserve <br /> and use the existing paths to enjoy its rural setting. <br /> C. Two years ago, a proposal by the same owner a was denied by the Town and the <br /> County Board. It was also for a CUP for religious uses; at the time the proposal was <br /> build a lodge and 5-10 cabins. <br /> D.
