At a meeting on December 2, 1997, the Town Board <br /> unanimously voted to deny this conditional use permit . <br /> Equally important reasons led to the Town Board' s decision-- <br /> lack of conformance with the Town of Oregon Land Use Plan, as well <br /> as State and County policies on development and public safety. <br /> 1 . Violations of Land Use Plan. This land is currently <br /> zoned A-1 Exclusive. The Committee is required to consider all of <br /> the relevant factors contained in Section 10 . 123 (3) (a) . The <br /> application conflicts with a number of the relevant factors <br /> identified in the Ordinance. The public safety concerns to be <br /> addressed later on in this letter, are clearly relevant in <br /> evaluating the availability of adequate public services to the <br /> property under Section 10 . 123 (3) (a) (i) . The proposed development <br /> certainly does not need to be in the middle of a <br /> wetland/agricultural area, and is highly incompatible with the <br /> existing uses in the area. The applicant has never disclosed to <br /> the Town of Oregon whether the applicant has considered alternative <br /> locations that did not create the strong level of public safety <br /> concerns that this site raises . <br /> The Town of Oregon is very concerned about the substantial <br />
