This proposed commercial rezoning is for reuse of buildings constructed for the mineral <br /> extraction on-site. Mineral extraction is nearly complete and a reclamation plan for the mineral <br /> extraction site has been submitted by the applicant(A-2). <br /> Areas to the west,northwest and south of this site continue to be active mineral extraction sites,with <br /> considerable truck traffic. <br /> Therefore, re-use of these buildings for contractor/repair storage appears reasonably compatible. <br /> However,the C-2 District permits many other commercial and industrial uses which would be <br /> incompatible. Therefore,the site for the C-2 should be conditionally rezoned for the purpose of <br /> contractor equipment repair and storage. <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH (septic, etc.) <br /> Petition 7040. Consideration should be given to the provisions being made for proper collection and <br /> disposal of petroleum products, degreasers and solvents that are associated with this type of operation. <br /> Improper collection and disposal can result in groundwater contamination. <br /> DANE COUNTY HIGHWAY <br /> Petition 7040.
