CUP 1310,Dane County,Town of Verona, 2/13/96 Motion by Salkin/Hendrick to impose the following conditions: 1. Hauling shall be across Cross Country Road to the Landfill. ; . 2. Hauling shall be limited to one season in 1995. 3. There shall be a gradual feathered slope in all detention basins and ponds. No vertical walls. 4. In regards to dust, the Town Chairperson, if after physically viewing the site, deems that dust is causing a problem, will have the right to shut the job down until control measures correcting the problem can be implemented. 5. Approximately ten acres of land will be opened up for clay extraction at one time. When the excavation is complete on the first ten acres, the next ten acres will be stripped of topsoil. That topsoil will then be placed on the first ten acres stripped. This procedure will then be repeated for the following acres. After the topsoil is replaced, it will be graded and seeded. 6. Soil erosion control will be required and enforced. Siltation fences shall be constructed as required. 7. Hours of operation shall be 6:30 am to 5:30 PM. Truck hauling shall be limited to 7:00 am to 4:00 PM. The intent is that work days shall be Monday through Friday with the exception of an occasional Saturday for rain make-up. 8. A good faith effort shall be made to leave several inches of clay on site. Surface of topsoil will be prepared prior to seeding such that roots could be established. 9. The land shall be depth in grassland/hay production for an initial five year period to allow soil structure to become re-established,and to assure no harmful effects to area groundwater. 10. After this initial period, the reintroduction of a more intense land use such as row-crop agriculture may be allowed based on soil test results and committee approval. . 11.The Town of Verona Board will be notified of any requested changes in land use. 12. Soil testing shall include remapping based on soil borings. In addition, test plots shall be done to determine yields on the rebuilt soil so future nitrogen can be closely tied to yield expectations. 13. Groundwater monitoring wills may also be required. 14.Land use must follow State Standards for nutrients and pesticides currently being set by the UW, State and Federal agencies. (These standards will be in effect before a petition for land use change can be made,and they will establish specific soil series application rates for the area.) 4 V i
