COMPOSITE REPORT - Page 2 APPLICATION NO.
STAFF COMMENTS
REGIONAL PLANNING
Petition 7102. This proposed expansion of the A-B rezoned area is an existing set of farm
buildings in an agricultural preservation area in the Town of Christiana. There is an existing
dog food processing business on the site currently zoned A-B. The nearest residential
neighbor is at least one-fourth mile away.
This appears reasonable; however, the adopted town/county policy also states: "To rezone
only the minimal area needed and use the least intensive zoning district possible."
The expanded A-B area includes the residence and several large farm buildings. Thus with
A-B zoning there is potential for expansion of the present business or creation of new
businesses. To be consistent with the adopted policy, there may need to be a condition on
the rezoning to preclude new uses without a public hearing.
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH (septic, etc.)
Petition 7102. The existing private sewage system must remain on the same parcel with
the structures it serves.
DANE COUNTY HIGHWAY
None
OTHER
