Hoofer facilities are located in the Union. Offices and meeting space are provided for
the clubs. A large work area is shared with the building maintenance staff. This shop
is used to maintain and build equipment. In addition, a full time advisor,a half-time
advisor, and a secretary are provided for Hoofer operations. The Union provides
these facilities and staff; they are not part of the Hoofer budgets.
The Hoofer Clubs are open to students, faculty, staff and Union members. Many of
the members are non-undergraduate students. Their involvement adds strength to the
program because they share their greater experience and surplus time. These non-
' undergraduates often stay with the clubs for years, thereby lending continuity to the
organization.
With the addition of the Hang Gliding Club not even the sky is the limit to Hoofers.
The clubs are monitoring the interests of the University community constantly.
Hoofers will continue to move with the times and provide outdoor programming for a
diverse group.
Hoofer Council Hoofer Council is the governing body of all the clubs. Policies that pertain to all
Hoofers are established by this group. Representatives from each club in addition to
five officers (elected by the general membership) form Hoofer Council. This body is
the communication and administration link between the Union and the clubs.
-- hnarri of the
•
