Park Hos Street Inc. Meriter is committed to providing high quality child care services in a stimulating child
Madison,WI 53715 centered environment. Currently, Meriter Children's Center has two locations adjacent to
608 267-6000
Meriter Hospital on Park Street in Madison. Our Longfellow site is licensed by the State
of Wisconsin to serve 80 children with a staff of 20. Our Chandler site is licensed to serve
55 children with a staff of 14.
We are proposing to open an additional site on the property located at 8221 Raymond Rd.
In the Town of Verona. Our plan is to use the existing facility on the site. It is a newer
building, erected in 1987 and needs only a few cosmetic alterations to be adapted to child
care use. This site would serve approximately 40 children, ages six weeks to six years and
will be staffed by 12 teachers and a site coordinator. The center would be open from
6:00am to 6:30pm, Monday through Friday. A license to operate a Day Care center will
be obtained from the State of Wisconsin prior to the center's opening. The anticipated
traffic increase along Raymond Road will be minimal. We project 40 to 50 additional
autos daily.
4. Time Schedule for Development
We anticipate any modifications needed to the facility to be completed by June 1, 1997.
5. Reasons why the property is suitable for the proposed use.
This is a newer facility situated on an attractive piece of property. Previous use as a
Community Based Rehabilitation Facility required a self-contained building suitable to
louse 15-20 patients with classrooms, kitchen and dining areas, rest areas, offices and
meeting space. This space along with the surrounding acreage is an ideal location for a
day care facility. Little modification to the facility will be needed and the codes
governing CBRF's and Child Care facility are similar.
6. See attached site plans.
