TOWN OF VIENNA
Office of the Clerk (608) 846-3800
5270 Norway Grove Road
April 17, 1997
Dane County Zoning Division
Room 116 City-County Building
210 Martin Luther King Jr., Blvd.
Madison, Wisconsin 53709-0001
Re: CUP Request #6905/1422 Wayne Acker
Dear Mr. Reynolds,
The Vienna Town Board held a Public Hearing on CUP Request#6905/1422 on April 7,
1997. The request was submitted by Wayne E. & Barbera K. Acker and for the purpose
of allowing horse boarding and riding lessons on property currently zoned A-2.
At the conclusion of the public hearing the board voted to support the CUP request with
conditions. A copy of the findings of the Plan Committee and the conditions the town
would like applied to this request are enclosed.
I also spoke with you about the necessity of removing existing deed restrictions on the
property that was filed with the original rezone. I was informed that the requested uses
under this CUP permit do not require the removal of those deed restrictions. The Vienna
Board asked to continue those deed restrictions as long as they do not prevent the uses
requested for boarding horses and training horses on that property.
The Town also received a copy of the findings and recommendations of the Dane County
Regional Planning Commission. In that report it was noted that they suggested the
number of horses be limited to no more than 16 horses. Please note that the town also
addressed the limit for animals in their suggested conditions. The town feels that a
number not to exceed 26 horses would be acceptable for that property.
In summary, the Vienna Town Board voted to support CUP Request# 6905/1422 with
the attached conditions and with the current deed restrictions to remain in effect on that
property.
Sincerely,
Robert Pulvermacher
Vienna Town Clerk
cc: Vienna Town Board/ Vienna Plan Committee/ Mr. Wayne Acker
