The Town then scheduled a special public <br /> meeting on June 9, 2014 at the Town Hall to help facilitate this Blanket Rezone and answer <br /> landowner questions. Affected landowners received a direct mailing notification. Subsequent to <br /> that meeting Town staff personally placed a call to all affected landowners and the Town Plan <br /> Commission approved the list at the next meeting July 7, 2014. <br /> Farmland Preservation Plan Rezones (FPP). Required by DATCP, these rezones were <br /> identified because of location of certain parcels inside the Windsor Prairie Limited Service Area <br /> and identified as available for possible development. There are a total of 106 land owners and <br /> 130 tax parcels affected;all land owners listed have had a chance to respond via phone,email or <br /> at the Town meeting. <br /> The Town of Springfield Board approved the final list on 7/15/2014. If approved, the zoning <br /> in the Town of Springfield will be consistent with the Dane County Farmland Preservation Plan <br /> and therefore eligible for the state Farmland Preservation Tax Credits.Also,the Town intends to <br /> amend the Town Plan to help assist some local farmers. <br />
