COMPOSITE REPORT - Page ,2' 9 APPLICATION NO.
STAFF COMMENTS
REGIONAL PLANNING
CUP 1436. This proposed airport runway expansion was previously reviewed by the RPC as part of
the Draft Environmental Impact Statement for Proposed Construction of Runway 3-21 at the Dane
County Regional Airport.
The Regional Planning Commission agreed with the statement that the preferred alternative—extension
of Runway 3-21 proposed in CUP#1436—would have less impact on wetland and floodplain than
other alternatives presented. The project impacts are to be mitigated by on-site and near-site wetland
restoration, mitigation bank credits and stormwater management practices. These proposed mitigation
actions should be part of the conditions.
The Commission also found that this action, as proposed in CUP#1436, would constitute a major
change to the Starkweather Creek environmental corridor. The initiation of this process should be one
of the conditions for this project.
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH (septic, etc.)
DANE COUNTY HIGHWAY
C.U.P. 1436. CTH "CV" is a controlled access highway. Any changes to existing points of
access or new access points requires a permit from the transportation committee. No apparent
problems.
OTHER
