Mr. Halverson' s Petition was scheduled for deliberation and vote at last night' s work/decision meeting, but was postponed due to 1) additional information submitted by objectors yesterday afternoon, 2) our response to that late information and 3) the submission of the position of the Town of Albion through their counsel, Richard Lehmann. While Mr. Halverson is disappointed that no action was taken last night, he understands the Committee' s desire for careful deliberation. It is apparent from the argument submitted in objection to this petition that some neighbors are concerned about the impact on "the rural character of the community" if this petition is approved. In response to those concerns and in addition to the information already submitted, Mr. Halverson would like the Committee or staff to take the opportunity between now and the next meeting of the Committee to perform a site visit to determine for itself the impact of the proposed rezoning. Due to the surrounding cover and location away from Ramsey Road, Town of Albion officials had difficulty in finding the portion of the property that is the subject of the rezone petition during their site visit . Accordingly, please contact either Mr. Halverson or me to arrange for the visit so that you can be directed to the subject area.
