construction, the relocated channel will be protected from erosion through the use
of riprap, erosion mat, special seed mixes and other erosion control devices as
approved by the DNR. This channel protection method has been approved by the
DNR, Wisconsin Department of Transportation, the City of Madison, and the Dane
County Soils Conservation office.
• During the EIS process for this project, the Wisconsin DNR determined that this
reach of the creek in question does not serve as fish spawning or breeding
grounds and that this project will have no adverse impact on aquatic life. In
addition throughout the design of the relocated creek, the creek habitat will be
enhanced throughout the use of stream meanders and low flow x-sections and
enhanced erosion control measures.
• During the EIS process, it was determined that there would be no adverse
impacts to wildlife as a result of this project. In addition, the proposed offsite
mitigation site will greatly advance the wildlife habitat.
• As determined by the EIS process this project poses no threat to special
recreational, scenic or scientific interest including scarce wetland types which
were not found at this site.
g' - -ly,
/ / —,
/1
Michael J.
