A petition seeking such amendment has been drafted
for introduction by a member of the Dane County Board of Suoervisors. The time period
associated with ordinance amendments can vary depending upon the complexity of the
issue; however an average time period is about three to fourth months from the time of
introduction to final approval by the County Executive. It should be noted that while an
ordinance amendment is pending the Planning and Development Department would not
pursue enforcement absent special consideration such as the presence of a health and
safety issue.
It is important to note that the Madison Country day School does have a pending
Conditional Use Permit scheduled for the August 26, 1997 Zoning and Natural Resources
Committee Public Hearing. Although the ultimate action on this conditional use permit is
at the discretion of the Zoning and Natural Resources Committee a complete application,
including a detailed site plan) and favorable town action form at this meeting may go a
long way in action being considered at the public hearing.
