FUGITIVE DUST CONTROL PLAN
for Quarrying Operations
Payne & Dolan, Inc.
State and federal clean air rules mandate that we handle
crushed stone products in a way to minimize fugitive dust.
The principle fugitive sources at our quarry include the
portable crushing equipment, roadways, stockpile areas, and
dust from loads of crushed stone being hauled away from
the site.
Steps that must be taken to minimize fugitive dust emissions
include:
1) Add water or apply water sprays to crushing
operations, including crushers, conveyors and
screens, where fugitive dust emissions could exceed
federal, state, or local limits.
2) Apply asphalt millings, asphalt paving, asphalt
emulsion, or water spray and sweeping to plant
roadways that are frequented by haulout trucks or by
plant equipment.
3) Cover or apply water spray to stockpiles that may
lose excessive amounts of dust during windy
conditions.
4) Cover loads on haulout trucks where excessive dust
may be generated during transport on public roads.
For more information, please contact Environmental
Compliance for Payne & Dolan, Inc. at (414) 524-1849.
FugiDust.mpt
