COMPOSITE REPORT - Page 2 APPLICATION NO.
STAFF COMMENTS
REGIONAL PLANNING
CUP 1454. This proposed veterinary clinic appears reasonably consistent with the adopted
town/county policy in the Town of Rutland:
"To consider agricultural related commercial uses only: If a rural
location is required to serve farmers, and if it must be in proximity to a
resource; if no prime agricultural land is used; and if wastewater can be
adequately handled by a soil absorption system."
This is an existing "substandard" parcel (less than 35 acres when A-1 Exclusive Agricultural zoning
was adopted). There is an existing residence and barn on-site.
With the requirements provided by the limited family business provisions of the zoning ordinance, this
should be a reasonably compatible use at this location.
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH (septic, etc.)
None
DANE COUNTY HIGHWAY
C.U.P. 1454. CTH "A" is not a controlled access highway. Any changes to existing accesses or new
access points requires a permit from the area maintenance supervisor. If the present access is going to
be used, an improved access point may be required. If a new access is requested, it should be located
across from Mesa Drive or in that general area.
OTHER
I
