This letter is submitted in support of our client's application for a conditional
use permit for its property.
Our client is requesting a conditional use permit for the purpose of allowing the installation of
outdoor lighting for volleyball courts which presently exist on the property.
It is intended at this time, upon approval of the conditional use permit application, that the lights
would be installed no later than May 1, 1996, in time for the summer volleyball season.
We believe that the property is suitable for the proposed conditional use permit given its present
zoning status and current use. The property in question is presently used as a baseball diamond
which is also lighted for evening use. The volleyball courts already in place on the property are
located adjacent to the baseball diamond and the additional lighting would be consistent with the
baseball diamond lighting. In addition, the additional lighting would not adversely affect
neighbors as the additional lighting would not be of such strength to significantly affect areas
beyond the boundaries of the property. Lastly, the additional lighting provides an additional
summer recreational opportunity for the local population.
