Zoning <br /> petition#10912 and CUP#2330 have been received to rezone 38 acres of land to RE-1 Recreational Zoning District The <br /> Conditional Use Permit application would allow a skeet/trap shooting range. <br /> • It is understood that you would like to remove the proposal of serving alcohol on the premise. The conditional <br /> use permit will be amended to remove that item from the application. <br /> • The application stated that you would like to sell firearms on the premise. This may be allowed two different <br /> ways based on the degree of intensity of the sales. <br /> o The first option would be to include the gun sales as part of the conditional use permit. The gun sales <br /> would be considered an ancillary use to the shooting range. With that said, conditions would be <br /> imposed to limit the gun sales/display to 10%of the area of the lodge and no have on-premise signs <br /> noting the firearm dealership. <br /> o The second option would be to rezone a portion of the property to the B-1 Business Zoning District.This <br /> would allow the sales of firearms at the lodge and the sales of other product. You could use a majority <br /> or all of the lodge as firearm dealership or possibly sell hunting clothes or other products as well. <br /> Please let me know your overall intentions for the gun sales on the property to we can amend the zoning petition or CUP <br /> to reflect the intended uses. <br /> • I noticed that the application did not contain a legal description of the property. Please provide a legal <br /> description of the property in word format. <br /> • As part of the zoning review,we have identified that a sign was constructed along Interstate 39 without proper <br /> permitting. A sign permit will need to be obtained by Dane County Zoning Division and the State Outdoor <br /> Advertising Department. Please contact Denny Dreier at(608) 246-7906 and talk to him about obtaining a State <br /> sign permit for a sign along 1-39. Also,you will need a sign permit from Dane County Zoning Division.
