COMPOSITE REPORT - Page 2 APPLICATION NO. 1289
STAFF COMMENTS
REGIONAL PLANNING
CUP 1289, This proposed equine chiropractic service is in an agricultural preservation area of the
Town of Vermont.
The most relevant policy for this issue is: "Agriculture-related commercial will only be considered if a
rural location is required to serve farmers, if it must be in proximity to a resource, if no land of
agricultural significance is used and if no urban services are required."
Comments
- To the extent that horses and horse-related services are agricultural, this appears to meet the
requirement to be in a rural area.
- Apparently the rationale for the 49.5 acre site is for the exercise of the horses.
- The application indicates that existing buildings will be used and rezoning is not involved.
- So long as it stays within the requirements of a limited family business, it should not require
urban services.
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH (septic, etc.)
None.
DANE COUNTY HIGHWAY
CTH"JG"frontage is apparently the back side and should not affect this roadway.
OTHER
None.
