IJ' ` 7192
•.
D Thi@RWIFN • i
December 1, 1995 D'G• PLANNING&D ELOPMENT
ZONING
DIV ELOP
SIGN
Dane County Zoning Department
Room 116, City-County Bldg.
Madison WI 53709
RE: Rezone#6468
C.U.P. #1297
Dear Zone Committee:
We are writing to respond to the rezoning from RH-1 to A-2 of Eugene Friede's property located
at 3232 Elvehjem Road, Section 01, Town of Dunn, 3.8 acres.
We oppose the rezoning of this property for the following reasons:
1. Our home is approximately 50 yards to the property trying to be rezoned.
2. We purchased our property because of the existing zoning of Mr. Friede's property.
3. Presently, Mr. Friede has four cows, numerous chickens, turkeys, and geese. This
property is currently zoned for one livestock/unit per acre.
4. We moved into our home in March 1995. Since then, we have had chickens &geese in
our front yard, turkeys in our garage defecating, and his dog in our garage eating our dog
food. A couple of times his cows got out and ran through our newly seeded yard.
5. Mr. Friede has trouble keeping his present livestock on his property, we have inquired as
to the confinement of his present livestock to his property. Mr. Friede informed us that he
lives in the country and shouldn't have to fence them in.
6. We do not want a barn yard out our front door with unlimited livestock. We hang out our
clothes to dry and do not want them to stink like a barn.
7. We are concerned about animal waste and waste run-of and the safety and health of our
two small children.
--- continued---
