I <br /> regret that we were not able to resolve the issue of payment <br /> in lieu of taxes . Dane County simply is not willing to <br /> establish the precedent of paying property taxes or fees in <br /> lieu of property taxes for public, tax exempt facilities and <br /> services . <br /> Because we were unable to resolve the issue the County is <br /> pursuing a different option. Chapter 59 . 97 (9) Wisc . Stats . <br /> provides a mechanism for Counties to rezone land owned by the <br /> County. <br /> Please accept this letter as the County' s notice to the town <br /> of the County' s intentions to rezone Lots 1 and 2 of CSM 3557 <br /> and lots 1, 2 , 3 , and 4 of CSM 6543 located in Sections 10 <br /> and 11, T6N, R8E Town of Verona, Dane County, Wisconsin.
