• <br /> REASON FOR REZONE REQUEST <br /> I purchased a single family home on 7/30/95 with the intent of rezoning it to a duplex. <br /> This home is currently zoned R3. <br /> The previous owners built on to their 3 bedroom home to accommodate their adult child <br /> and her family. They built a one unit apartment onto the house, which consists of 1 bedroom, a <br /> kitchen, full bathroom, large living room, their own furnace, their own entrance, and their own <br /> driveway. The two units have a connecting door on the first floor and in the basement. These <br /> doors connect the existing house and the new addition. The laundry room in the basement is <br /> currently shared. <br /> My intent is to rezone this house to a duplex. I would like to close off the door on the <br /> first floor which connects the two units. I would like to close off a room in the basement and <br /> build a laundry room for them. The duplex would consist of the owner-occupied 3-bedroom unit, <br /> and a separate one-bedroom unit. I would like to rent out the one-bedroom unit for rental <br /> income. As the house now stands, it is way too large for my needs. <br /> I would like to have the rezoning request approved as soon as possible so I can get a <br /> building permit to close off the door on the first floor which connects the two units. I would like <br /> to close off a room in the basement and make a laundry/storage room for the one-bedroom unit. I <br /> would like to have the rental unit available by June 1, 1996. <br /> PLEASE NOTE: I have the initial approval from the Town of Blooming Grove Planning <br /> Commission.
