•
July 11, 1996
TO: Dane County Zoning Administrator
James Gregorius
and Blooming Grove Town Board
FR: Town of Blooming Grove Plan Commission
RE: Rezone petition #6567 (Conrad) 4254 Sprecher Rd.
The Blooming Grove Plan Commission (and Town Board) approved
this rezone request to rezone 3.5 acres of AG-1 Exc. to R1A
and 5.3 acres from AG-1 Exc. to AG-2.
The petitioner's requested rezoning was intended to divide
the property and to make it easier to sell and settle the
deceased' s estate. The plan commission approved because the
area is not suitable for agricultural use (too steep) and is
surrounded by areas that are residential (Rambling Acres) , or
will soon become residential (City of Madison annexations) .
The plan commission also indicated (unofficially) that it
would consider amending the town land use plan map to reflect
the reality of land use in the area. The idea being to
change the land use plan map designation from agricultural
preservation area to rural housing district.
The parcels in question are in the SW 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of
section 12, T 7 N, R 10 E, Town of Blooming Grove.
Unfortunately, this unofficial opinion inadvertently became
an official part of the petitioner' s rezone request. The
rezone request has been tabled by the Zoning and Natural
Resources Committee awaiting Town action. We request that
the land use plan map ammendment proviso section of the
petitioner' s rezone request be recinded so that the Zoning
Committee may take action on it.
The Blooming Grove Plan Commission still intends to consider
ammending the land use plan map, but does not feel that this
should be attached to the conditions for petition #6567
approval.
Your help in this matter will be appreciated.
Sincerely,
Steve Glass, Chair
Blooming Grove Plan Commission
