SCHUTT DRIVEWAY
Project Summary
A new driveway is being proposed for a new residential site on a previously undeveloped parcel. The
scope of this project involves the construction of a new driveway, approximately 700 ft in length. The site
improvements will include a 14' wide bituminous paved driveway, shoulder grading on each side of the
driveway, and one culvert under the driveway.
The proposed property is located on Parcels # 0610-221-8520-5 and 0610-221-8500-9. It is locasted
on the southwest side of US Hwy 51,approximately 655 yards northwest of Dyrenson Road. The property is
located in the NW 1/4 of the NE '/< of Section 22,Township 06N, Range 10E, in the Town of Dunn, Dane
County,Wisconsin. A project location map can be found in Exhibit#1.
The proposed development requires land disturbing activity of approximately 41,361 square feet and
the cumulative addition of approximately 19,086 square feet of impervious surface to the site. Therefore,
according to the Dane County ordinances, the site requires an erosion control permit. The intent of this
description is to provide details on how the site will be developed so that it is constructed in accordance with
applicable erosion control standards.
Erosion Control Measures
The total off-site permissible annual aggregate soil loss for exposed areas resulting from sheet and rill erosion
must be limited to an annual, cumulative soil loss rate not to exceed 7.5 tons per acre annually. Universal Soil
Loss Equation for Construction calculation sheets (USLE) are included in this submittal package. All runoff
from disturbed areas during construction shall be directed to flow through the erosion control measures as
shown on the included Grading and Erosion Control Plans.
The initial land disturbing activity will be to install a stone construction entrance, rock check dams and silt
fence. During construction, all sedimentation and erosion control items will be maintained for maximum
effectiveness. The stone construction entrances will have its stone replaced when the existing stone is no
longer effective. Sediment trapped by the silt fence will be removed when it reaches a depth of approximately
one-half foot. Sediment deposited on adjacent streets during construction shall be removed at the end of each
working day.
All disturbed areas, except impervious areas, shall receive a minimum of six (6) inches of topsoil, fertilizer,
seed, and mulch. Seed mixture "Wisconsin DOT 40" or similar lawn mix shall be used on all restored
locations. The seed mixture shall be applied at the rate of five (5) pounds per 1,000 square feet. Fertilizer
shall be applied per a soil test. 1 1/2 pounds per 1,000 sqft of annual ryegrass shall be added to the mix.Mulch
shall be applied at a rate of 7.5 Tons/Acre/Year.
Attachments:
Dane County Erosion Control Permit Application
USLE worksheets
Location Map
Soils Map
Channel and Culvert Drainage Plan
Grading and Erosion Control Plan Set
